Rust prevention by use of Rust Converter
Rust Converter is a unique properietary product developed by VIVID specially for removal and prevention of rust on Iron Metallic surfaces and iron metal reinforced concrete structures.
The rust converter is synthetic polymeric formula that converts existing rust into moisture free, gray protective coating. Not only does it eliminate existing rust, but it seals out moisture to prevent the possibility of future rust formation and corrosion.
Rust Conversion Mechanism
The chemical mode of action of rust converters is the conversion of porous and loose iron oxide (rsut) into firmly adhering iron phosphate layers. Rust Converter is a water based coating. When used as single coat, rust scales are converted into a dark blue-gray film, which retards further rust formation and also works as a primer or base coat for any other protective coating.
Rust converter is an alternative to surface preparation by sand blasting or grinding etc.

Storage tanks, pipes, metal structures, machinery tools, trucks, Auto bodies, bridges, ships, or any other metal parts liable to rusting.

Rust Converter Application Methods
- Remove loose paint / rust scales with wire brush. In case of blister formed on the metallic surfaces, these shall be removed completely.
- Apply the first coat of Rust Converter, 1 Part Rust Converter and 1 Part Water on the cleaned surface. This will acts as primer of rust converter treatment.
- Appliy second coat of rust converter with brush or spray. It will form dark gray coating.
- Apply third coat after 4-6 hours for best results.
Rust Converter is not a paint. It can be over coated with any other paint.
This product is non toxic and does not give rise to exhalations.
Its contact with skin does not cause any particular damage and washing with water is enough.
Rust is most damaging to metallic surfaces and pipes. Paint and coatings can help prevetn rusting but many a times it is not easy to paint the pipes.
Consider the examples of submerged pipes, tube well pipes, pipes used with boilers etc. It is important to put the rust prevention measures before installing the pipes. You can use the rust converter and substantially reduce your maintenence costs.
The Rust Converter is based on the principle of reacting and reducing the rust.
