Water Proofing and Damp Protection
During rains and due to atmospheric dampness the building structures gets affected by water seepage. This can be prevented by the correct layers of plastering material. Normal cement mixture is not capable of curing this problem. The dampness causes the expensive paint to peel off and also brings stale and foul smell in the building. For healthy living we need a clean, dry, and hygienic environment.
WATER PROOFING STEPS
- Remove POP and Cement plastering to reach to the Brick wall.
- Clean the Brick Wall with iron brush or normal brush or cloth as appropriate.
- Create a mixture of Tuffcrete, C-Max, Cement, and water. The mixing ratio is Tuffcrete (1 Ltr), C-Max (100 gm), Cememt (4 Kg), Water (7 Ltr).
- Apply three (3) coats of the mixture giving suitable curing and drying time after each coat.
- Apply 1 coat of WS Black Coat mixed in Water. The mixing ratio is Black Coat 1 Ltr and Water 0.8 Ltr.
- On curing of Black Coat mixture; plaster the wall with Cement by adding 1% C-Max to Cement.
- POP should be done on the wall only after curing.
This will give complete Water Proofing, even if there is a substantial seepage of water in the wall.
BENEFITS
- Water seepage protection
- Damp proofing and protection
- Longer life for the building structure and paints
- Reduce atmospheric corrosion
- Fire protection - the mixture recommended above has a very high melting point and thus provide heat protection in case of fire. The material coating is effective on steel and increases the melting point of steel frames (if applied on the steel rods) used in the building
