We live in a sophisticated society, our requirements of more & more comforts result in environmental pollution.
Vehicular exhaust, high rise buildings, environmental pollution, greenery less land causes more hot atmosphere in urban area’s.
During summer, solar radiation is capable of raising heat and this raises the demand for cooling comforts such as cooling, air-conditioning, roof insulation etc.
Each material where temperature is above absolute Zero(459.7 deg. F) emits infrared radiation including the sun, ice-berg, stove or radiators, ceiling, walls, roofs etc.
Any building absorb & emit 80% - 90% of heat which is transferred from warmer to the cooler side by condensation, convection & radiation as most of the roofing materials are not capable of retarding infrared radiation.
A term used as a measure of reflectivity & absorption is “ Albedo”. The higher the albedo of a surface the less energy it absorbs, and it maintains cooler temperature.
Insulation reduces the heat transfer between the two surfaces by reducing thermal conduction. Thermal Insulation is a way to control heat movement by keeping it in or out of a place.
Roofing material such as modified bitumen, tar & gravel with albedos from 0.10 to 0.20 can absorb 70% of solar energy falls on them.
Present Insulation Materials & systems: Asphalt, Shingle, Glass Fibre, Glass Wool, Foam Board, Cellulose, Thermocol and Mud Phaska used for Thermal Insulation , do nothing for the heat transfer, taking place via radiation (I R Radiation).
Due to I R Radiation, roof & walls (East-West) gets hot during day & day’s heat is emitted into the living rooms at night. The rooms become so hot that creates sweating and even fans & air-conditioning fails some time. The cost of cooling a room is quite exhorbitant.
Surface Preparation: Clean the surface and remove all dirt, oil, grease and other adhesion inhibiting materials. If there is any crack or hole, then please repair it first. Vivid provides excellent coating, cement mixers, and bandages for surface repair.
Applying Condition: Please do not apply during rainy days, or in cold weather when the temprature is below 12oC.
Applying Technique: Brush or Spray this paint three times. The combined thickness of the 3 (three) coats should be less than 2 mm. Please give a gap of 6-7 hours between each coat in sunlight or 10-12 hours in night.
Paint Coverage: One litre paint covers approximately 50-60 sq feet with 3 coats.
WHITE KNIGHT WS/ECOTOUCH/REGAL thermal Insulation reduces solar heat gain, using a combination of strategies, including cool roof surfaces, insulation & radiant barriers. Modern Insulating / radiant barriers are simple and effective, with excellent reflectance of I R Radiation.
Though these coatings are applied just like an emulsion paint but are much superior in quality than any Ist.quality emulsion because of their quality like adhesion to any substrate, algae & fungal resistance, ability to “Self Wash” and shed dust under normal rain fall, adds to their properties over other alike coatings.
WHITE KNIGHT WS/ECOTOUCH/REGAL introduced in the year 2000 in technical collaboration with M W G Ltd. U.K. is a Liquid Marble Coating System based on hybrid polyester and acrylic emulsion, reflective pigment white, hemisphere beads which are radiant barriers.
